Halloween to Thanksgiving 2008
What a time we've had these last two months! Sorry for the delay in posting...our computer crashed within a day of our moving to a new home! But we're up and running again.
Halloween was a fun time for all of us. Josiah was a bumblebee, buzzing around and threatening all with a sting!
Micah had a blast as a "tigger" from Winnie the Pooh. He didn't care for whiskers painted on his cheeks though! His favorite part of the night was riding horses. We went to a harvest fest at our church and he and Josiah had their first horse rides, hay rides, train rides, and tour of a fire truck!
Josiah loved the bunnies at the harvest fest. We had a lot of fun running all over the parking lot to get on rides and games!
While Tonya was busy packing, the boys didn't slow down a bit. Micah is addicted to tractors, something he was destined for :-). It is not uncommon to hear tractor sounds coming from both boys as they work together or against eachother, depending on who is playing with whose toy.
While packing, we discovered an old wooden train from Thailand that Josiah had in his closet! It became the big hit of the week.
One weekend in November, to celebrate 5 years of marriage, Kris and Tonya took a weekend retreat to the lake, one hour away. The first night the boys came with us, and the second night we had the place to ourselves. We took the boys to Chucky Cheese for the first time before they went back to Fulton. Micah enjoyed the show more, Josiah the games. But the pizza was Kris' favorite!
"Man, Mommy, this doesn't go nearly as fast as the Gator on the farm!".
Tonya is exhausted after about 6 months of working on our new home. Over the past 2 months, she has lost 10 lbs, making her thinner than she was on her wedding day!
We rented a log cabin with a lake view for the weekend. It was recently renovated and was so comfortable and relaxing. We will be back again next year!
Josiah loved the cabin too. We had lots of fun watching movies and eating in the first night with the boys, then stayed out to shop and eat out the next day after they went home!
Micah loves his Daddy. He doesn't see Kris as much as the rest of us because he still takes two naps a day and goes to bed early. We look forward to seeing Kris more this winter, as we'll be leaving on Christmas Day to travel to South Carolina and Michigan to celebrate with Tonya's family, then on to Canada on New Year's Day to spend two months working with missionaries there!
The boys now have their own dining area in our new home. We sat it in the kitchen and they can eat together and share (or steal) eachothers food!
Our family on Thanksgiving Day, at Kris' aunt and uncle's house. We'll be putting up a post before Christmas of before and after pictures of our house. We are still working on some things, so aren't ready to post them yet!
