Micah Jay's birthday!

July 20, 2007 will be a day we will never forget: Micah Jay's birthday! After reaching 39 weeks of pregnancy, Tonya's doctor recommended scheduling a c-section since he could tell that Micah was as stubborn about coming out naturally as his big brother was! This time we were able to prepare and go into the birth without lack of sleep or lots of stress!






Micah Jay weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. He is much chubbier looking than his big brother was at birth and has auburn hair. Kris got the joy of cutting the umbilical chord and a nurse took the picture. Doesn't he look professional about it?















Tonya was not able to hold Micah until after she got out of recovery, but did get a couple moments to touch him shortly after birth.












Micah is a very good sleeper! He has to be woken up to feed most of the time and rarely fusses. Mom and Dad have gotten needed rest because of it!











Here's a very happy Mommy with a precious bundle of blessing! Micah nurses very well, although he needs to be stripped down to his diaper to stay awake sometimes!
















Kris' parents were the first to hold Micah after Kris and Tonya. They brought Josiah with them to meet his new brother too.

























Kris' Grandmother Mathis was one of the few to enjoy seeing Micah awake on his birthday.

Here is our happy family of four! Josiah was very curious about the "beba" he saw with Mommy, but did not get upset. We had to hold him back from exploring in his own way how babies react to head thumps and grabbing hands. Josiah got his own special treatment though: lots of little presents from visiting family members!
